We all know that BMB are knocking out boats pretty cheaply. However there appears to be a further saving to be made by buying in Germany.

E.G. BMB 25DC is £45,000 in UK but only Eur 54,800 in Germany (both prices inc vat). Even if you spend £2000 getting it back here you still save a cool £5k.

At £40k it could make a nice little starter boat for someone. It's even got a little fridge for yer tinnies.

The plot thickens

Ancasta list the prices for the Petrol and Diesel versions as follows:-

1 x Volvo 5.7 GXI (320hp) Petrol £45,500 inc VAT
1 x Volvo KAD44 EDC (260hp) Diesel £56,305 inc VAT

However, in August 2003 MBY te prices were quoted as £38,280 and £48,985 inc VAT. How come the prices have risen by £7,000?

Re: The plot thickens

but 11 grand between petrol and diesel, that seems a lot of difference in new engines.

Re: The plot thickens

I think you can put that down to the recent fall in Sterling against the Euro, about 15% in the last year

The difference is even greater because I think I'm right in saying that VAT in Germany is 19.6% compared to 17.5% here. Must be the extra cost of changing from left hand to right hand drive
