There's one listed here. If it's the same one that was moored next to me for far too long, the owner is a mindlessly boring motor-mouth. Don't get him to show you around because it'll be days before you get to see another beer/your other half/your car/etc. The bloke is a trainspotter that somehow ended up on a boat.

There's one for sale near us that has had considerable repair work done.
The owner seems to have had some fun in it, but I cant imagine it as much other than a motorboat with sails. And an old one at that.

Dont expect a racing boat, it is built in the tradition of solid old fashioned boating, However, I have known one owner who used it for long distance cruise and was very happy.
If it is the Hamble Point example then it has been for sale for 2 or 3 years atleast.

Yes, thtas the one that I have looked at the broker tells me it was taken in part exchange for a new Hanse and the last owner kept the Barbary Ketch in Jersey.

Hi, I used to sail on a Barbary 33 on the Clyde during the 70's. Very solid boat, good sailing off wind, but not brilliant upwind by modern standards. Comfortable and probably a lot of boat for the money if you can find a good one. Definitely a go anywhere take anything little ship, we experienced pretty savage weather at times & hardly noticed (but that could have been helped by the local spirits ! ) The semi-enclosed cockpit is a real boon for typical UK conditions. Very different to the Sun Odysseys we sail now in the med ! Construction is 'substantial' & 'workmanlike' & really from a different era, which die hards would appreciate I am sure.

I suspect that if you can get hopld of "young wrinkly" he would be able to advise! He has recently aquired one. Also is available under easternboats.com ( I think!
