Couple of us from here brought a yacht back from Bangor to Cardiff last weekend. Some pics and a vid:

That was great! Just goes to show winter sailing can be terrific. How cold was it at night?

It was cold, particularly at one point where we kept a watch for floating debris from the bow, but the skipper kept us on short watches, and there were 5 of us, so plenty to make tea and soup, and it wasn't bad at all, really.

To be honest, I think we were all on such a high, and it was so much fun, we didn't really feel cold. It was certainly preferable to sailing down in a winter storm.

37 hours, end to end.

Cheers, Chris. I think I might have staggered into you on Sunday morning - I was half asleep!

:D

I think i said hello but wasnt sure if it was you,we were giving my new boat a clean, its on "c" pontoon its a bit of a project but should be ok for the summer,i need to come out for a month to do a bit of work on the propshaft but i must wait until April until the yard is clear.:(

Whilst it was a bit cold, it was nowhere near as cold as I had feared (the beards were almost superfluous!), and the weather was especially kind. I expected that bringing an unfamiliar yacht across the Irish Sea in January would be so much more of an icy trial than it turned out to be. A thoroughly enjoyable few days.

Many thanks to Martin, Allan, Vince and Steve for the help in bringing Camelot home to Cardiff and their excellent company.

Great post and I bet an even better trip, I think I'd have chosen a summer month though!

Love the dolphin video

Typical, sounded like i missed a good trip while i was away. Can't really complain though it was -18 where i was and -38 wind chill.
