Bamboo Spars

Can anyone tell me from where I might obtain (in the U.K.) a suitable Bamboo pole to use as spinnaker pole. It needs to be at least 16 feet long and I imagine on average a couple of inches in diameter. Any advice on using Bamboo as a spar also gratefully recieved.
