I'min the Baltic again for the summer. Wehad a slow start because of bad weather in UK back in May but now are in Southern Sweden. It'sgreatandIcan recommend it to all -except heavy drinkers.Weather is currently good.Daylight hours are long. We typically pay less than ten pounds for a full servicemarina berth and the country is beautiful. Incidentally Holland and the canals were great,The German islands were fun (exceptfor force 10 -in harbour) and we enjoyed a taste of Denmark.Quite simply more of you ought to come.Theres a lot of room.

Re: what about the no-drinking tho?

Hm, this sounds like a decent spot - but possibly one to cross off the list. I do know some people who drink less than i do, but i don't kno any non-drinkers. What's the problem? Are they mad for roll-mop herring and Ryvita? I thought the baltic types liked stripping off and beating each other with twigs stark naked. They've just got to be smashed for that, no?

Re: what about the no-drinking tho?

I think it's somat to do with the cost of anything that is a diaretic. It is their way of taxing the pollution of their water treatment plants, lakes and seaboard. Thus this ecologically aware nation charge you about £40 for a bottle of scotch with other types of alcohol being similarly extortionate.
Still, you'll be ok after you've made another fortune on the aforementioned "dodgy land deal"/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Are you thinking of sailing back at the end of summer, or will you be leaving your boat in Sweden for the winter?
