Back on board in Spain. Our cockpit cover is now in a sorry state, time to bite the bullet and replace. We can carry it home to get one made and the boss says she would consider making one if we can get a better machine!
Or we can get one done here in Spain.
It would be useful to get a ball park price before we ask for a local price.
The boat is a Neptunian with a small centre cockpit. The cover just has studs along the back of the dog house, along the coaming tops and then on the roof of the after cockpit. The main roof bit is around 2x1 M plus the two side panels , no windows, no zips.
Any price ideas or other suggestions appreciated.

I had a new sprayhood made up by Sabre sails for £400 using the old one as a pattern. You could send them a photo and see what they say.

Pete, we are just making a dodger here in Portugal. Mrs D has a Singer 201k on board, cost us less than £200 for cloth and bits, 3 days so far, resdy for fit on tubes tomorrow forfinal adjustment. Sailrite vids were spot on

Good machines those old Singers. I have a 99K and it runs like new.

Skipper moored near me has just tried to get quotes on a canopy from 3 companies down here in the south east.
Not a chance.............. until next spring.

Fitted a new Taiwan motor a few years back, the old dc one with a squashed carbon variable controller was not too good. Have got my head around the timing and the cause and effect of the various foibles of it. Now it takes all in its stride, just wish it could have done zig zag

Sauleda Sea Star Masacril fabric is about equal to Sunbrella in quality and is made in Spain, paid €14/ linear metre here in Portugal this summer so, some of that and buying an old heavy duty machine would be cheaper than having one made and you would be left with the machine for other jobs.
