Ball park figure..

I know this is like asking how long is a piece of string, but I need a quick answer back.

Does anyone have a ball park figure I could expect to pay to have a 34' yacht re-rigged?

will depend on type of reefing equipment for the genoa, size of standing rigging, whether you need to replace the rigging screws , whether mast is already down, or if the cost will have to include mast removal and replacement, and wire size. to many variables to give any indication other than very ball park ish, but about £1000.

I know there is a tone of variables and as I said, length of string type of question. I have estimated 2000 as a worst case scenario with the mast already down and a new reefing system to be fitted.

Depends,

are you talking about new standing rigging & new running rigging? Do the spreaders need replacing? Is it masthead or fractional? When you say reefing are you talking about a new Jib furling system? A Jib furling system could cost you £1000 by itself. Can you do the rigging work yourself and just need materials?

As a guess 2 to 3 thousand would be a good ball park. Cheaper is not always better - what sort of sailing are you going to be doing?

Also, is there anything else you want done at the same time - eg new jib pole track. Do you want sta-lok terminals or swage (recent good thread on the topic favours sta-lok but much (MUCH) dearer/harder work? For a 40' ketch currently looking at iro £5000 for standing rigging, with masts out and some additional bits and pieces. Don't forget the VAT!
