The mostly seem to have in common the " if all else fails use more and more power" trick. Doing nothing would I assume have led to a better outcome!

Exactly....rather grab their phone than a rope or a fender

Some of these could have been mechanical failure i.e. stuck in gear.

Tried to help someone get his what seemed jammed bilge keel off trailer on shallow slip. The couple were deaf and speechless. Got the mobile crane out lifted boat into water,Later they managed to explain they where retrieving the yacht.
Quiet laughter followed.
Doesn't always help to give a hand!
I then put it on trailer FOC
