I have an ex-broads hire boat of 30ft. Single diesel engine which has just been rebuilt and is in very good condition. I now want to explore further afield and would like to go down the coast a bit and try some of the harbours etc, but nothing to adventurious just yet. Is it acceptable to put a bracket on the transom for an outboard as an auxiliary engine? The boat is very stable and will cruise at around 6knots. It is equiped with GPS, echo sounder and VHF. Can anyone see any problems with this? I've also passed yachtmasters theory just in case said GPS goes up the swanny.
