I am pleased to say that after an absence of 4 years we are hopefully coming back to the Orwell.
Our ( ?) new boat is being surveyed tomorrow and assuming nothing major is amiss we will be the new owners in a week or so.
We have been living in the USA and are now back in jolly old England.
Looking forward to seeing you all next spring although we really don’t know anyone we were on waving terms to lots of you.

I assume you’re aware of the new Nik Kershaw Dam that’s been built from Nacton shore across to Pin Mill? Bit of a blow for the marinas upriver but many of the berth holders there have learnt to embrace freshwater sailing.

If you ask nicely, I'm sure that Trinity House would be prepared to reverse the port and starboard marks for you, to save you having to readjust.

Septic Aisle to Sceptred Isle sounds like a positive move :)

Surely it would be much simpler just to turn your compass card around 180 degrees?

Thanks for the welcome back. Didn’t worry too much about bouyage over there. We did have a boat but it was a GP 14 which we sailed on Barnagat Bay New Jersey.

You'll fit right in then as a lot of people don't worry about buoyage over here either :encouragement:
