Now then, I'm not easily impressed these days, but this did strike me a a very good looking and practical little boat.

I much prefer the cuddy cabin to Axopar's usual open bow arrangement.

It shall be on my short list if/when we buy a place in Spain.
There’s a lot to said for bricks n mortar ( or concrete ) and a boat like this .
More so if you can drag it out in the winter and shove it in shed / hanger .

Your property if chosen well will out appreciate the depreciation on the boat and possibly its running costs over its ownership period .
So when you come out ( both property + boat ) you are above water .

Biggest problem is predicting peaks and troughs, the Spanish housing market being particularly fickle

Indeed yes, but unfortunately the graph reflects all Spanish prices good stuff and bad.

Oddly where we are (boat not house) in Empuriabrava, Costa Brava, I haven‘t seen any particular dip in house prices. I think it’s because it’s 90% second homes for the French, German, Belgium (and Russian) and I guess people just hold on…..different market, maybe under your category of “if chosen well”

So @petem maybe the marina side property would be perfect for you for your plan

Another aspect of Petes post other than the bricks n motor investment side that I have brought in , is the actual boating .

It been touched upon here a few times previously but I suspect a little under valued .This is you don’t need much , a bigger boat to enjoy boating .Reversal of the onwards and upwards forever going larger philosophy .A philosophy beamed into your living room by advertising, you tubers and other gen marketing and of course naturally many posters on here .

Agree with your sentiment. I've just downsized from a 7 metre sports cruiser to a 5 metre Rib and am having more fun with others who've done the same. Cruising areas much extended as I can tow to west country and other places in less time/cost.

Paddle board or gin palace, everyone is having fun , it's just different fun!

I was told Chris craft sell well in Palma to property owners like the OP . Axopar also seem well represented in jersey I believe perhaps for same reasons.
It seems like every other boat in majorca is an axopar ..... I dont see many chris craft though.

Where we are (Altea) it's super common for people to use their boats as day boats. In fact, it's very rare to see anyone sleeping on board.
Seems rare in majorca too, there must be people who stay on their boats, but most people I know just use them as day boats. Its what we do too, we'll do the odd overnight trip somewhere occasionally though.
