Axiom 9 not showing chart detail

Can anyone help please, my Axiom 9 is not showing chart detail, was fine last weekend and now just displaying basic coast outline as if there was no chart card in.
The unit was fitted last June and the charts that I downloaded was also last June, do I need to bbuy another chart download so soon?
Or could the unit need an update?
Any suggestions please.

I don’t think the charts disappear when an update is required/subscription expired. On ours a warning message just popped up every time we turned it on, which we just dismissed. Not a lot of help but perhaps eliminates one possibility.

I know exactly what screen you are seeing.

Following a hugely expensive install by a well known south coast dealer, that was the screen that greeted me when I first turned the unit on.

When they came back they discovered that they had left their system sd card in the unit … the Navionics was still in its packaging.

They swapped them over and all was good for a week until I saw the ‘simple/basic’ screen again … it might actually be called one of those … you’ll know it when you see it.

Got through to Raymarine in Fareham and from memory went to a menu on the left hand side of the nav screen where the unit had set itself to this ‘simple’ screen.

They could neither explain why or why I’d even want a simple screen but it was just a screen press to get Navionics back.

We have a raymarine e version plotter but once you have bought the micro card it keeps working just doesn’t update to latest version of maps buoyage etc. I assume you have a micro card on an axiom?

Agh, that sounds encouraging, may be a simple menu issue. I can't imagine how it would have changed but I will give that a go, thanks.

Yes the chats are on a micro SD which I downloaded last June

A bit more for you, I’ve been through the manuals (held as PDF’s) and can’t find the menu on the chart screen … I’m convinced it’s there but never mind.

and with regard to having to renew your Navionics I never bothered and the only loss that I noticed was that autoroute (dock to dock) wasn’t supported, with good reason.

No chart detail, chart options say nothing detected. Idk what to do.

You would need to remove the card and reinsert it as it's not been detected. If that doesn't work the card is corrupt (sometimes happens if you write bathymetrics to it until it's full) or the card reader has failed. You can inspect the contents of the card on your PC to see if it's readable or full up for example.
