I am interested to find how much a full awning would cost for my boat. I am thinking of having a cover fitted to the sprayhood and extending over the cockpit and aft cabin. Is there anywhere I could go to get some idea of the cost?

Give Ricki a call on:

Mastawerks 01225 874203

Based in Keynsham and will custom make any kind of canopy you need.

My canopy was £1750, with lots of zips and windows, on a 30" Mobo. I guess quite complicated.

grief thats expensive. Last quote I had on a 33 ft cat was just under 1k, mind you about 4 years ago. Nevertheless ........... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

There were other companies that wanted more.

Also, Mastawerks were able to complete in 3 weeks, not 3 months. That was in February, a busy time for them.

Not cheap, but a good job.

Unusually small for western waters...

I used Emlyn Canvas & Cordage who are in George Street Newport.

Full covers for for 26ft mobo less than 1 K last year. (Loads of zips and windows) The only thing was I was able to supply them with the old covers to use as a template. My next lowest quote was £1500 so we were very pleased.

For a non boaty supplier, you could try Attwoolls in Whitminster, Glos.

I used Emlyn to replace some windows in the cover on my old boat a few years ago. They lasted 12 months before clouding. My guess was that they used the window material they normally had for lorry canvas work etc. They arent (or werent at that time) a marine supplier but they were cheap.

Hopefully they have resolved since supplying yours. I have only had my covers 18 months but to date windows still as clear as the day I received them. All fittings and zips in good condition as well. Time will tell.
