Looking for a supplier and price for Awlspar HS, high solids varnish, in UK, any help please.
Marineware in Southampton www.marineware.com are the UK distributors. 30 seconds on Google gets that.
Unlikely anybody else would stock it if the official distributor does not. Have you actually asked them? or asked their European office in Belgium?

Scotty - might be worth a call to Marineware, the guys there are very helpful.
Perhaps you should think about using European alternatives.
Don't be bullied by names and reputations.
http://www.mcmc-uk.com/paints/index.html as a good example.
Wood Impreg 120 followed by Seatop 360 PUV.

Chris, thanks for your reply.
You have mentioned this stuff before and as you are in Turkey, I guess it may be good stuff.
I have asked them for their prices, I have lots more varnish to do and as I'm stripping the handrails to bare wood, will give it a go on those. I see there is a 360 PUV and a 360 PUV (tropical) do you know the difference? or is as I suspect the tropical more UV resistant?
I have to admit though the Awlspar HS is excellent stuff and will take some beating, its longevity, I have no idea, although the super yacht re-finishers hereabouts swear by it, along with Awlbrite.
I haven't used the PUV tropical so can't comment. Wouldn't have thought it
was about extra UV protection, more likely user friendly application in humid conditions.
Agree with results from Awlbrite being superb in the hands of an expert in ideal temp/humidity situations.
Wood Impreg & PU360 are a doddle to use as long as you avoid dew and rain. Difficult to judge long-term longevity as I have only been using it for 3 years but so far I am well impressed.
Prices here about Euro40 for Wood Impreg and Euro50 for the 360 PU.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Chris
