Two years ago I bought a cheap(ish) copy from Aladdin's Cave (they also were selling The Real Thing) and have regretted it. Its lugs fit the transom, but the wooden bit hangs far too low.
Dig out your old PBO's and you'll find a very good article where a guy made his own from studding and ply ..... It works !!
I have an old steel bracket that soon will fall apart !! The replacement is now Fibreglass job ..... and as far as I know is available in most chandlers - have you tried Aladdins Cave / Marine Super Store etc. ??

Bilge Keelers get up further ! I only came - cos they said there was FREE Guinness !
Yes, I fiddled with that idea, but the angle is wrong as well as the height, so in the end I put plastic tubing on the lugs to stop them sliding fully into the sockets. It sort of works.
Can't you take of the old pad and rework it ?? Maybe with wedges etc. ?
I know when my bracket fails - I will make my own !! The previous metal bracket I had failed when I was lifting the o/board of !!!! Half of it came with the engine !!!! I had just motored across Langstone hbr as well !!!!!!
