Avatars

I do hope someone could point me in the right direction and advise me how I can put an Avatar up when I post. Most people on the forums here seem to have one but I havent a clue how to do it. Thank you.

Go to User options (top left) then scroll down to Personal Information and click on 'edit' to the right of it. Then scroll down to avatar bit. You can then use a default ybw avatar, or upload your own. If you upload your own, it needs to be correct size

It needs to be max 80 x 80 pixels and 10k file size. That may be tricky to achieve without saving it as a Gif and using a "Web" compression setting.
Some picture resizer programmes will achieve it for you. Other forumites may suggest how, but if you have access to Photoshop it's perfectly possible (if a little tricky).
The other thing that may fool you is that after uploading it to the forum avatar vault it may not show.
You need to use Shift/F5 to force a refresh.

learning photoshop just to get an avatar is a bit overkill?
There are many free programmes that will do it easily
