I believe I need around 32 litres of 15w-40 lub oil to do an oil change on my 2 Cummins 6BTA M2 5.9 engines. What type (brand) of oil would you recommend, and where is the most cost effective place to buy it?
Thanks for any advice...
Norrie

All advice here is good........

Not a brand person but like Tinkicker I use Shell Rimula X 15W40 cheaper than supermarket deals when I purchased from local ag supplier. However they have been taken over by Emo oils and claim that my next order will be cheaper than previous an include delivery, Emo certainly want to deal!

ACEA E5, CAT ECF 1a Cummins CES 20075, Volvo VDS2, ticks all the boxes for me.

Use Fleetguard LF 3349 lube filters, also cheap as chips, do NOT over fill and life will be good.

Hi Norrie,

I have Cummins 450C 6CTA 8.3-M3 engines. The required oil spec was met with Rimula RCX 15-40 which I've always bought from EMO Oil @ £41.60 per 20 ltr drum. If you order 100 ltrs in one go, delivery to your door is free of charge. Call 01925 858608 and ask for Phil.

I have yet to find it less expensive anywhere....

Just remember what I said about over filling, worried me when you said 32 liters.

Low mark is 12 liters high is 14, with total system capacity of 15 inc filter as ABSOLUTE maximum. I am far happier when I see B owners running with 12 liters in the pan.
