Given that you never know what the weather is going to do at that time of the year I would have thought that you should choose September with confirmation say 48 hrs before departure and use October as a fall-back possibility if Sept doesn't work.
I also agree that Cherbourg is a safer destination if large numbers are involved and if anybody wanted to make a long week-end of it you could do a triangular couse: Cherbourg then St Vaast.

A Sadler 32 in Christchurch? You're a brave man! I've only been in and out of it in a Binliner, and even then we chewed the prop up a smidgin.

They made a few ( I know of 3 ) with a lifting plate...Rumoured especially for Christchurch..
So I only need 3'6'' or in foreign money 1.07 summats...
By the way Ken Do you know Al Ward and Philip Walker..... Both Twisters ( "Cabrach" and "Hiner") in the Weymouth area?? With whom I sometimes sail.

Don't think we've ever met, but they both feature in the Owner's assoc mag from time to time, so the boat names are familiar.
