Just reading the survey which was done on Rogue in 2003.
The surveyor suggests that, because there is an Eberspacher Diesel heater under the aft bunk, there should be an automatic extinguisher fitted....
I can see his point, but it's pretty packed with batteries, heater, pipes etc. under there, so there's not much space, and it's not very deep.
If it was fitted pointing downwards, (as these things seem to be designed for), my impression is that we would end up with a load of powder on the floor, about 2 inches below the nozzle, and not much on the source of the fire.
If it was fitted in the cabin, I can just see someone breaking the phial and it going off by accident.
As it's possible it could be an insurance condition - any ideas?
