autohelm 2000

I have an Autohelm 2000 which has the control box mounted on a bracket on the side of the cockpit. This bracket is made of plastic and I have managed to break it. Raymarine do not stock this part now and I wonder if anyone here knows of an alternative I can use.

G'day Ted,

A friend of mine had the same problem, he relocated the unit to the companionway bulkhead (Inside) and ran the cables as required with water resistant plugs.

The mounting was a simple bit of PVC pipe screwed to the bulkhead through two large holes drilled in the front to give access to the screws at the back, you may be able to adapt yours in a similar manner.
