Anyone know how to set e-mail (OE) to autoresponse when I'm away? (As suggested in PBO handy check list cards this month).
One of the good ideas. The bad or wierd idea was to remind your crew that anyone caught carrying drugs would mean the boat may be confiscated. I must admit I have omitted to ask this before most of my trips.......

Oops - me again!!

What email software are you using?

Auto respond is easy if you are using Outlook + Exchange server in an office environment. If you are running Outlook Express from home - the it is more difficult, as your machine may well not be on all the time.

Realise that my last was less than totally helpful ..

If you are using OE, and WILL be leaving your machine on then tools/Message Rules/Mail is the menu route.

Rather than writing you full instructions why not try http://www.i-resign.co.uk/uk/resignationkit/outlookexp.asp where you will find a nicely written up example.
Rather than 'Forward to people' use 'reply with message', click on the blue underlined message in the rule box, and type in your nice notification that you are away on hols or whatever.

If on the other hand you DONT leave your machine on ....
