Can anyone recommend a auto bilge for the above .. one that operates only when water I present .. not every 30 seconds keeping me awake haha .. thanks

I have these ... as good as any 'recognised brand I've had' .............

Automatic 12V 1100GBH Bilge Pump Water Pump Submersible Pump With Float Switch for sale

The float switch under means that it has to actually properly float to activate unlike some instant electronic types.

I have one in my soviet speedboat powered by a 7A/Hr SLA battery as used in House Alarms ... which has a 10W solar panel to keep it topped up.

Another is under the cabin sole of my motor-sailer .... powered from domestic battery with 3 position switch .. manual - Off - Auto.

Both work very well and despite being 'Chinese' ... (which at end of day most are anyway !! ).

Many of the chinese clones do not meet the claims printed on the box.
Comparisons on the web .
They will not pump the GPH claimed.
Even poorer performance if any serious head of water involved from bilge to through hull fitting.
A careful search might get the price of a known branded pump very close to a clone.
Many pumps have feature to stop pump constantly cycling.

My £23 Chinese auto bilge pump works very well ... and it certainly shows me I don't have to pay out £70 or so for a 'brand name' pump which is literally same ! I have a Seaflo from previous and these - they are IDENTICAL.
My £23 Chinese pump doesn't 'cycle' as some mention - it only starts after the float has 'definitely' risen ... making it ignore that bit of sloshing water from boat movement.
To get the last little bit of water out - I use the manual ON to make the pump run when on Auto it won't.

Before buying these pumps - I always bought RULE ... till I had one in the bilge of my boat and it seized. When I took it apart - it was so corroded - it was amazing it ever ran at all ... it had leaked into the motor ... Life ? It was only 2yrs in service.

Is your current pump and electronic one?
If so and it keeps cycling on and off its because of oil or similar in the bilge that has coated the outside of the pump sensor.
Simply use some kitchen roll to clean the oil residue off. (Giving it a wipe over clean is something you should do yearly)
Then Also use some bilge cleaner (or fairy liquid) to clean your bilge stop it happening again.

I am happy with the Seaflo 600gph pump I have.

dont buy Chinese rubbish

I have one of these Seaflo Chinese rubbish pumps in my shower sump box. It has so far lasted longer than the Atwood pump that was originally in there, and the rule pump that I replaced it with.

Do you think there is something wrong with it. Maybe I should complain that it has not failed as expected and request a refund ?

Ps. My cheap Chinese heater is just as bad. I mean, three years without a single breakdown. I don't know how they get away with it. ?

I’ve got a Seaflo pump too....it’s great chinese rubbish ???

im a great believer in cheap Chinese kit.....I just know that bilge pump is good....the copy maybe just as good. I was upside down at full stretch fitting it so went for the Branded this time
