Hi folks, I have been reading this and other forums on this site for a few years now and I am astounded at the help and advice that I receive. Technical knowledge etc... you guys are great. I wish we had something as good as this down under. Just wondering if we could have a new heading(s) for a group of convicts so we could benefit from the great model that you already have? Perhaps as simple as one for Ozzie Power and one for Ozzie sail? I am a member at Royal Perth Yacht Club (yes we took the old mug from the Americans and proud of it :) I am sure with a bit of promotion from some of us here that we could get a great following and contribute to YBW. I welcome your thoughts. Cheers from down under. "RnD" as per the pic of our latest boat. A 42 ft Northshore, also known as a AM 42 or a Precision 42

As a pom now in WA I agree, I was disappointed to find that there are no decent boating forums over here, an Oz section of the YBW forum would be great!

I'm sure having some of the best cruising grounds in the world makes up for it just ever so slightly......

Here in WA we have beautiful beaches and Rottnest island, but there is not really any cruising grounds as such every where is so far apart, not like the UK or Med when you can find a port or cala after every day trip along the coast, around here you would be going for weeks to the next shelter! Over on the East coast they have sets of Islands, but that's a few thousand miles away from here.

So you don't fancy coming back to Bridgwater?:)

Hey John, ha ha no; I never saw sea rays swimming under my boat in the Exe, I'll happily keep what I have here thanks! :-)

Oz boating forums are pretty much centred on boats being platforms to catch fish on, not so much cruising which seems to be the YBW motor boat forum focus, which also suits me.

From what I've observed over the years on this forum, the consensus seems to be not to "dilute" the forum into smaller categories, but keep the action on the main page.
A while ago the North West Wales members had a strong/active representation in the main forum and others (like myself) joined in, keeping the threads lively and lots of fun.
I reckon if you moved an Oz section off this page (if that's the plan?) it would not get enough input from the Brits, slowing it down too much.

I would tend to agree. Many moons ago the Lounge didn't exist and the mobo forum was a much livelier place. The general idea behind the Longe was to bring all elements of boating together in one sociable place but unfortunately it seems to have turned out to be a place where some (myself included) rarely go.
