Just come back from a month's trip to Brittany. I like to take the NW corner of France in stages - L'Abervrach to Camaret for the Ch Du Four, Camaret - Audierne for the Raz, then off to wherever.
Went into Audierne again and must comment that the place is deteriorating. The supermarket close to town is now not a lot more than a food jumble sale. There is no fuel on or near the pontoons and the supermarket that sold fuel is now gone.
The visitors' berths - and there were never many - now seem to be filled up with locals with one pontoon end reserved for some big fat Duc de Bouche.
The showers and toilets are pretty poor and there aren't many of them.
Big shame really. I quite liked the place but despite the friendliness of the harbourmaster, I don't think I shall be returning.
