Auctioned Scottish Superyacht

It's not a superyacht. Clyde Blowers dude did spin a PR story about the yard diversifying into the 'superyacht' maintenance/refit business, which had no credibility at the time and nothing of the kind ever happened.

Agreed, it’s too small to be a superyacht, maybe a Gentleman’s Motoryacht.

It is a different set of skills; shipyards stopped having in-house cabinetmakers etc. in the 1960s. The core competencies(are supposed to be) steelwork, welding and pipefitting; everything else is subbed out these days.

Perhaps was intended as a new Royal Yacht for Scotland ;-)
Some have misinterpreted this comment. But the “Royal Yacht” meant, well “Royal” yacht.
After all, the English royal line expired in 1603 when the Scottish Stuart’s took over as also King of England (and Wales & Ireland).
So perhaps opportunity for a Scottish Royal Yacht :)
Or perhaps not:unsure:

"
the yard did not have the resources or tools to renovate the yacht, and so the best course of action was to sell it.
"

A shipyard that cannot renovate a relatively small yacht. What hope of building and completing two roro ferries from scratch?
As @penfold said a totally different skillset. I can't see Princess Yachts building a ship.

So does anyone actually know where it's got to? Very pretty vessel, but I wonder how big the market is for the restored product - making the project pretty risky, and the scrapyard more obvious.

According to Mark Chapman Yachts she was sold in February 2021 to a Scottish person to be renovated in Scotland.

She might not even have been moved. For example, one of the Fifers, Reaper, was placed into the naval yards at Rosyth, where A&R Way from Lochgilphead refurbished big parts of her. They do fine joinery as well.

Good news then - I'll look forward to seeing the end product, I love these classic yachts.
