Hello everybody, I'm looking to pick your brains! I have recently purchased a 2009 bayliner 285 with a calorifier.
I know that it should heat the water with shore power hooked up, and the heater switched on. But when im out cruising is there something I should be switching on/over so that it heats the tank from the engine? When out on our maiden voyage I only had cold coming out the hot tap
even though the Engine had been Running for a few hours. Its an Attwood ehm6 calorifier.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong!? Thanks for reading. ben

There's a supply pipe from the engine which should have a valve on it - lever needs to be in line with the pipe - there might even be a valve on the return pipe from the tank to the engine. Possibly one of these is closed off.

I did wonder of there was some kind of valve!? I'm pretty sure 2 of the pipes are connected to the engine regardless and I was also told by the broker it heats from the engine too. I've tried to upload a pic but it says it's to large to process. Thanks for quick replies anyway. Ben
