The Mooring Saga.
Continued in second post, reason: too many characters...
A year later the whole trot was lifted out for maintenance
- Just over a year later the entire whole trot was lifted out for maintenance and left ashore for six months.
- This was done without any discussion with Nick and without notification.
- This is the first time in the history of the trot that it has been found necessary to do this. Why was the Pandemonium mooring taken out and not left on the seabed as per the original plan?
- Examination of the trot revealed that the chain originally ordered and paid for was not present, see pictures.
- There should be 90-120ft of previously brand new 22mm chain (only been in the water for just over a year) attached to the downstream end.
- Even if second-hand chain had been used 'by mistake' there should still be 90ft of 25mm chain.
- Most of this chain is less than 15mm, nowhere near the 22mm as we ordered.
- In addition we would expect the new chain to still have remnants of paint on it after only just over one year.
- Nick obtained consultancy advice from a Marine Surveyor and Legal advice from Solicitor. He expressed his concerns to {landowner} about not wishing to remain personally liable for a mooring which, due to this apparent 'conspiracy to defraud', is of inadequate specification.
- This and the ensuing correspondence between Pandy owners is a matter which could consume another webpage in itself, it is suggested to wait until the Committee has at least decided on some specific reasons to expel Nick before going into further detail.
