I would just like to thank everyone who contributes to this forum for the local knowledge imparted, entertainment and sort of implied comradeship in the East Coast that that it provides. It is always my first 'port of call' when I log on.

May everyone enjoy the Christmas and New Years, and of course a superb boating season in 2017.

In a year (2017) that I have to re-apply for my driving licence, I ( I should say we) don't know what we will be doing, Ali (Alshira) has recommended the Baltic, I'm sure Sailorman will be off to Belgium and Holland again. I would like to do the South Coast, but it would be interesting to hear what plans others have at the back of their minds for next season.... anyway....

Happy Christmas and an excellent New Year to all....

Kind Regards
Russ and Christine

Not trite at all, well said and may I please echo your good wishes to one and all here on this very civilised forum.
I too have driving licence renewal looming in the New Year, and cruising plans are similarly loose - I'd have liked a long cruise on the other side of the Channel but what with family and other stuff I suspect we may be cruising the East Coast again - surely no hardship.
All the best.
Dick & Angela (Cantata).

I've got an outside chance of taking an extended break in the summer - if it pans out we're hoping to get down to the bay of St Malo and round the corner to La Rochelle etc - would be lovely to explore Brittany without time pressure. I too am beguiled by Ali's descriptions of the Baltic - so it's definitely on our list too. Maybe not this year - or maybe... maybe... maybe...

Anyway - (waking from reverie) Happy Christmas to you all! Fair winds and safe seas in 2017 from the crew of Marmalade!

Having had to cancel the trip to the Baltic I suspect it will be Dorset again for us with the outside chance of Devon and a bigger chance of a return to the CI's, Alderney is my favourite Harbour of all time.

+1

May be able to get 4 weeks off work this summer, in which case maybe France again, or the Netherlands trip we've been aiming for over a number of years but always been thwarted by something or other.

Current excitement is the unexpected possibility of buying a slightly bigger, newer boat (if only we could find the right one).

Yup..... Baltic again for us, Allah, God, or other deity of your choice, willing.
We hope to return to the west coast of Sweden. Anyone else who wishes to be beguiled, just ask!

Have a lovely New Year - a saner one than 2016, we hope!

I intend to head north but dunno how far. I've got a chain of cousins from Mersea to Newcastle so the purpose could be calling on them. Would be good to call in at Wells again. Also tempted to cross border into Scotland. But who knows....got stuck in Lowestoft for three weeks of northerlies once.
