Got away for an overnight for the first time this season. Cracking sail from Mersea up to Shotley on Saturday, hard on the wind on the last of the flood to Bench Head, then gradually easing off around the coast. Off the mooring at 1420, spent a few minutes tarting about recalibrating the compass, and arrived off the posts about 1830...
Yesterday's sail back confirmed my like for the wheelhouse, but boy, did it rain... No wind so, motored until N.Eagle, when it came up to about 8, then 10, then 14 knots, then romping along (again hard on the wind) in up to about 25, but very flukey in direction with rapid 20 degree shifts. Out of the lock at about 1010, back on the buoy about 1430...
