Have to disagree, "engineers" have a well developed sense of humour - like the one who "serviced" my engine leaving it unusable! Why do they call them engineers when they're mechanics?

Showing my ignorance, I know......

Just looking at the photo, I always wondered how cutter-rigged boats tacked - How do you keep getting the front gib on the other side of the rear jib? Is it not a bit of a faff?

You tack the genoa as normal, grinding the sail in on one of the cockpit coaming winches. You can then pull the staysail across by hand and tension it on a companionway winch. The loads are quite light on the staysail.
 
Taking a cutter

Tis a fine Rustler indeed and a great photo ta.Tacking with yankee and a staysail is a doddle - I assume most cutter tackers find it handy to leave the staysail backed momentarily to help pull the bows round to whatever course you want to pick up. (Of course our AWB correspondents will point out helpfully that this is because such boats are so slow to handle:D

1) furl the jib just the necessary to make it clear of the inner stay,
2) tack (mizzen staysail and jib are both clear),
3) unfurl the jib.
