Cant believe it but this must be my fifth boat so have i not learnt anything yet,it seems not.

OK can not revel the boats since not made all the checks visits and offers but happy to reveal the engines so comment will be made on better or worse? funny enough they are all Volvo's

The boats are one trawler and two fairlines.

the engines are
Volvo Penta ABTAM71 380HP turbo diesel
Volvo Penta TAMD72A
Volvo Penta TAMD 61A diesel

wish me luck.

Tom

Cant comment on the engines as I don't have experience of them but good luck for the new purchase.

It is a great feeling when buying a new boat, despite the downsides of ownership that we all know only to well!!

We have an offer accepted and will be viewing, survey and sea trial this week and we are really looking forward to it.

Good luck Tom.

Was down in the "Anchor" on Sat for grub and again on Sunday eve. for a jazz band . Wonder if you know the landlord,Hamish ,appearently he used to play for the
Average White Band. Fred.

Tom, 61 and 71 ok, keep away from the 72a, for many reasons.

My princess any good to you? Has 62a in , think you have looked at her before?.

Hi Fred

Yes I do know him he runs the three mariners as well and runs some music events there,it's a good few miles away from us but we can still hear it on a good night.

It was my third option, now off the list,

Thanks for saving me aa trip Tao the west country,

Tom

Tom that White interior would never sell again! Aquired taste for sure, don't know why fair line thought that one up in those days, wood is for boats for sure.

Thanks Alf

Hi Alf

All the boats I am looking at have a Volvo in them funny enough, But rest assure I will not be touching an American boat with us engines without checking with you first,The knowledge help and advise here are second to none, so easy to make a bad choice on boat purchase when you don't have the detail knowledge !

BTW is your engine up and running now? I did see it half way on the work but the end?

Thanks

Tom

BTW is your engine up and running now? I did see it half way on the work but the end?....

Updated the thread wth last WE's work ... head back on again (single handed that was a big job)... headed up on Saturday again, and aim to have the engine fully assembled by the end ... not sure if I'll manage the tune-up and startup part though....
