A big, public thank you to Ian Grant for being so generous and inviting me along as crew on Asterie. Had a superb time in great company and am really looking forward to sailing some more. SHE really is a superb boat Ian!
Prior to this trip, aside for a brief 30 min. outing, I've never set foot on a yacht so this was a sort of baptism by fire and, apart from wanting it all to end at some point mid channel on the way out, was an excellent experience, particularly the sail back. I learnt a lot about sailing this weekend including such things as the phrase "take this sheet back outside everything" includes the guard rails and many other useful tips too but I don't think I broke anything. I was quite flattered to be left at the wheel whilst afternoon naps were taken and guess this was a vote of confidence. Thanks again Ian!
Also, well done all those involved in the organisation - Ken, Nick and Tom. Your efforts did not go unappreciated.

PS - If anyone else needs crew I'm always available but now have certain minimum standards that a boat must meet. Not least being personal ensuite facilities!
