I notice that ASAP are advertising "Aqua Socks" which are put into the fuel tank to absorb water before being drawn out and binned.
These appear to be the same as "Water Worms" which are sold in Canada for the same purpose.
I imported a couple of these Water Worms a while ago but could not find a convenient tank hole big enough to get them in and out
The blurb said that the minimum aperture for withdrawing them is 1 3/8"
I note that the ASAP ones need 35 mm which is the same size.
Am I unusual in not having a big enough diesel tank fill tube or vent to be able to sue one of these promising devices?

I doubt it, I don't think many production boats have an access panel. I could remove the level sensor to get access and tend to do that anyway once a year to remove water from the sump. However, a lot of people have had problems with leaks so I'd like to avoid doing it quite so often. I have been meaning to install a dip-leg to allow me to pump put the tank sump area easily but haven't managed to find the time (or parts).

I know that the Aqua sock is weighted but would still worry about it moving around in rough weather and getting sucked onto bottom of the fuel pipe.
