As a recent Lottery winner, which boat?

There are only two contenders for a lottery winner who doesn't want anyone except SWMBO and a good turn of speed.

X-Yacht XC45

or

Alden 45

Yes, but I like the yachts with a sugar scoop. This means if I have a swim I can get back on, and if we pick up a mooring you can get on and off from the dingy. I've seen so many people struggle to get on and off where you're clambering over the side!

You've just won a tidy sum on the lottery.

You are thinking of buying a boat, around 50' (+/- 5'), so no pro crew required.

You are considering something like an Oyster.

What other boats would be on your potential shopping list?

If I really HAD to buy something that size, it would probably be an older Hylas. Some of the German Frers designs are lovely.

Chap says excitedly to his wife, "we've won the lottery, what are you going to do with your half?"

"Get a divorce" she replies.

"Well here's your fiver be out by Friday"

Mine would be the perfect boat for a lottery winner for a six figure sum and then you could pay someone to do the varnishing as well!

What would I replace her with though? A HR 36 or a vindo 65. Non of which I could afford but SWMBO hankers after!
