As a recent Lottery winner, which boat?

If we're talking about a real "money no object" win I'd look for a classic in need of restoration and then send it to the best professionals available.
Obviously it wouldn't need to be too big, but it would be beautiful, and I'd have saved something, or at least postponed it's demise.

she was in the mud berth for 40 yrs

Funny that

Strange but true, I was just saying to the wife that I noticed that the Grand Turk was still for sale (1.5 million) and that if I won the lottery I would buy her! Then checked this forum as I do daily! Going to buy a ticket this week!

Its not that easyand my heart goes out to those russian oligarcswho keep changing their whopping geat yachts for evenwhoppering greater yachts, withso much cash its difficult to decide. As a possible winner of said cash a nice seaworthy 32 footer!

The Oyster 45 would be manageable for a couple of your age & a reasonably quick boat

Not convinced. I find it hard work short tacking a 7 tonne 36 footer using Lewmar 44s on a masthead rig. So the sails on a boat that must weight 15 tonnes would be way heavier.

Definitely a Spirit 46 to weekend/day sail and 50' cat to live on - Catana or a Switch or something like that. I am assuming that my new found wealth makes me so irresistible that either the current girlfriend puts up with a "tippy boat" and living aboard or I can pick a new one after a comprehensive audition process.
