Arrgghh!!! which weather forecast ?????

Ok so I want to go to Calais from Sheerness, whats got me is the number of different forecasts there are now! Signed up to marinecall which gives what seems to be very good content, also using the wiley desktop forecasts, the only confusing issue is the amount of different forecasts for the same area. i.e inshore and offshore for both Dover, Calais, the Nore, etc. Days gone by I would stick to just the metoffice inshore forecast, and the shipping forecast and be done with it.
Think I have gone into forecast overload.......which ones should I be concentrating on?

Doesn't help for this particular trip, but i find for inshore use XC Weather is very good.

One look is enough - got one of those modern thingies wot show how it's been doing over the last 6 - 12 -36 - 48 hours

I would have to admit to using UGrib or Zygrib (both the same data). Windguru quite good too.

Not giving you a serious reply to your question, but I'm keen to air my brilliant idea of a new website, www.comparetheforecast.com. You tell it when and where you want to go, and your desired weather conditions, and it will search all the forecasts and find you the one closest to your requirements. If that one is reasonable, then you can set off fully confident.
The alarming thing is that I know people who actually do this...
