I can find plenty of references to people circumnavigating Britain singlehanded or non-stop but can’t find anyone that’s done it singlehanded non-stop?

Does anyone know who’s done it?

Would be quite a challenge (and not my idea of fun). There's some very busy, and some difficult, patches of water to get slowly through, which would make getting enough sleep difficult.

As I understand it, non stop allows heaving to and anchoring. Or at least by GGR standards.

I think Robin Knox Johnston and an Irish fella whose name escapes me both did it a few years back, when it became apparent no one had done it at that point. On this occasion RKJ was pipped at the post in terms of being the first.
There was another guy who'd attempted it who was a columnist for Yachting World, from memory I think John Passmore, who attempted it in his Heavenly Twins cat, - although IIRC that adventure came to an end with a capsize and a rescue somewhere up near the Shetlands.

There is also a contest for racing boats, Solo racing Round the British Isles, (best time being about 7 days).
I remember during one attempt a French sailor sailed through Dover TSS against the regular direction, he then was brought to trial and fined.

Peter Keig was first, in 18 days and a few hours, back in August 2000. RKJ finished a couple of days later, but faster. Not entirely sure it's been done since.

Would I be correct in saying Ellen Mc Aurthur in a Corribee ( did she do it non stop?) & i believe another young lady did it in a Coribee but her name escapes me. Famous professional sailor though

Ellen MacArthur didn't go non-stop, and also went through the Caledonian canal. As did Katie Miller, about 10 years ago.

I sailed around with a mate last summer on his 58ft cat, a lot of windmills out there and oil rigs in the North Sea, I would not like to have no one on watch, we went anti clock wise, better tides and wind in our favor, the Caledonia canal was fun, sailing down Loch Ness, a really good trip that all ended in Ramsgate, we were having brekfast moored alongside the pontoon, when a 383 ton tug ran into us, end of trip.
