No filter mask is going to effectively reduce your exposure to the solvents in the glue. Use a forced air mask or just do it on a windy day with every hatch open like wot i did. P.S. Don't smoke...

I used 2.99 a metre ribbed carpet from carpetright to line the sides of my forepeak, stuck down with a light amount of spray glue (ventilate well). It was really easy to work with and looks and feels great.

Carpet or other material linings aren't sutable for use on a boat IMHO.
I have had 2 boats with carpet linings and they have both got stained and mouldy.
The light coloured one looked nicest but suffered worst and looked shabby quickest.
The forecabin of my Centaur is quite dark but still shows the black mould.
When I eventually replace my foam backed lining I will do it with vinyl or some similar wipe clean washable material, but not foam backed.

If you are getting mould in your boat, chances are that there is a problem of insufficient ventilation.
