Are you the person who clobbered our boat?

Sometime in the last week or two someone drove into our boat whilst on its mooring at Pin Mill. Now I know accidents happen but the usual form is fess up and fix it. Not drive off and ignore it.
Maybe that someone didn't realise how much damage was done, maybe they thought no damage at all happened, but the reality is different. Two large chunks out of the gelcoat (glass exposed) and lots of scuff marks.
So, if it was you please could you do the decent thing and get in touch? It would be nice to sort this out in the proper way.
If anyone can throw any light on this perhaps you could get in touch? No names, no pack drill of course.

The same thing happened to me sometime during the first two weeks of September. My mooring is just down stream of you, one of the RHYC mooring between Pin Mill and SYH. Whoever it was has taken several large chunks of gelcoat out of the stern and put a couple of furrows in the top of the Raymarine GPS antenna. I wonder if it was the same person?

Orange/red marks left on the gelcoat. Can't be that many boats of that colour about

Not guilty your Honour. Painted the boat white err a day or two ago.

No, it won't. Put some tape over the damage to keep the water out and she's due out soon anyway. It's the dishonesty of doing a runner that rankles, that and the feeling that the perpetrator would probably scream blue murder if they were a 'victim'.

The boat next to me last year hit me whilst leaving his mooring, got caught by the tide and hit me, gel coat chipped in two places. He reported it to the boatyard who phoned me. the boatyard taped it up and it was repaired at layup, at no expense to me of course. I did go and thank the owner a couple of days after the incident, he was most apologetic.

We had that luck two years ago.

I was scraped about 2 weeks ago. Annoying but not really a concern, as I shall be repainting this winter anyway. Not the first time and never any note.
