Are Y insurance still the forum choice

I found 'Y' were competitively priced at renewal in March.
I only had one other for comparison. The was not much in it on price.

It seems to me the premium is proportional to the sum insured so if your new boat is higher value that your previous boat you may be feeling the effects.

previously with Pantaenius where I had a hard time over a "marina damage" (no fault) claim in France. All rectified in the end but it did lead me to move over to Y. In winter 2016, more marina damage (Valencia) when my neighbour broke free. This caused just over €30,000 damage. Y had a surveyor there within 3-4 days, repairs were authorised after the yard took a look and supplied estimates and work carried out to a very high standard. Finally, just about to put the mast in again when it was noticed that the furled was damaged (beyond repair). Another inspection by Y's surveyor within 2 days and authorised within hours. Fantastic service and managed extremely professionally without quibble. Quite a change from Pantaenius unfortunately.

They say you can only judge an insurance company when you make a claim - this was a substantial claim and Y were excellent. Furthermore, the premium for the next year was untouched (no fault). I really can find no fault with them
