Ref my other post - I am looking for a trailer.

The only decent 2nd hand ones I can find are pretty much the same as new prices - or at least only 2 or 3 hundred difference so it's not worth it.

Other than eBay, Boats and Outboards, Apollo Duck etc, is there anywhere else to look for a good 2nd hand trailer.

It has to be multi-roller, 4 wheel (I think) capable of comfortably carrying 2000kg min (2100 or 2200 would be better) and 21' LOA (19' waterline).

If I can't find one at a good price, I'm going to have to buy new, and that's a shame cos I hate giving the chancellor 20% of anything I buy!

I'd say no chance, I sold a 10 year old 4 wheel trailer for a 2.5T boat a few years ago for a few hundred more than I paid for it and I had at least 40 calls, it went within hours for the asking price, they are very in demand.

I know - it's mad.

Unless you're making a decent saving, I don't see the point in buying used - I'm starting to think that I might as well just try and do a really REALLY good deal on a new one...

I can get one new that will do for £2000

To get one that is perfect for what I want, and that will allow if I sell and buy a bigger / heavier boat will be £2500 new.

I can't see the point in buying used and not saving a good 30 - 40% so I guess for a trailer that "will do" I'd be looking to pay no more than £1200 - £1400

However if it were a larger, heavier duty trailer than I need now (so to allow for a bigger/heavier boat in future) up to £1800 or so.

Saying that - offer me a trailer that will take 3500kg Gross, has many many rollers, will take a 28' boat and is in v good condition, I would pay more for sure.
