Are there any boats that are unsinkable?

Are there any boats that are unsinkable?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just wondered if there is such a thing?

Go on, I will start with three (its raining here)

1 Etap
2 boston whaler
3 With bonwito

Etap (no longer made but awaiting news from new owner)
Some of the Sadlers
Sure there are others... some folk don't buy the concept though (or rate the importance)

@iangrant

You should address the problem, not the symptoms.

Assuming you mean the "symptom" is a holed or otherwise swamped hull and the "problem" by your way of thinking is either the breach in the hull or the events leading to the "problem" (swamping)...

In other words - don't consider how to mitigate the situation, should the "problem" turn out to be unsurmountable!

This is the kind of rubbish that turns me right off these forums - you are saying AVOID finding yourself with a holed or swamped boat - or else do not fail to effect a repair - instead of considering the contingency of an unexpected, unavoidable or irreparable event.

You have completely missed the point of my post, but I apologise for that as it was probably quite hidden, as it was a tongue-in-cheek joke that will be explained by this: http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2256044#post2256044

If you still don't get it, I will explain...

I am most definitely on your side, otherwise.

Noticed a couple at the La Rochelle show yesterday, the usual foam between inner and outer mouldings. But this only works on relatively small boats, or one loses considerable storage space. In France, being unsinkable relieves one of the mandatory life-raft regs (I think) not much help in the fire situation, tho.

If there was bait in the question... I'm not taking it...
