Are the weather gods toying with this mortal?

You've got even more time. Cable ship has a technical fault requiring visit to Sheerness Docks for repair, will be at least another week, they say, before they even get started in the Swale. Just off Margit as I write.
Oh!! They changed their mind again, they can fix the problem without calling at Sheerness - they will be in the East Swale this evening. Might be clear of the Swale (and heading slowly towards Foulgers) by the 22nd, I'm told.

Let us know. It has to happen once in a lifetime!
If it only happens once in a lifetime then I have little to look forward to.

I once set out from Harwich aiming for first stop Copenhagen. With a nice friendly W4 to start with we just set the genoa on port tack. As we came up and rounded Skagen the wind went northerly, then easterly. When we got to Copenhagen's Langelinie Marina we wound the genoa away. We hadn't touched sheet or halyard since leaving Harwich five days earlier.
