Is there not two issues though:
Price of boats falls as people get out of the hobby
Price of boat services increases as fewer people pay for them but providers have fixed costs to cover.

Only if there isn't a surplus of buyers.
Services will cost more because the cost of material, fuel, labour etc will go up. If they are already in a position where they have more than a full workload fewer customers won't help! More people might help but there is a labour shortage.
Anyone have some spare rose tinted glasses?
