I have recently bought a Simrad NSS Evo3 plotter and it comes pre-loaded with the basic Navionics charts. However, during lockdown I have been doing a lot of desk-based route planning with S63 charts from UKHO (purchased from ChartWorld and viewed on SeaIQ on my Mac - which I can highly recommend).

Overall the S63 charts have cost me several hundred pounds so I am interested if anyone knows whether they can be imported and viewed on the Simrad plotter?

Thanks!

I don't know for sure, but I'd doubt it. The plotter undoubtedly uses proprietary chart formats, and Simrad aren't sufficiently widely used for there to be a thriving user supported software community, as there is for Garmin. S63 is a derivative of S57, so there will be plenty of software to read it, but outputting it in a format that your plotter can use is the difficulty. There's an outside chance that the plotter can use it directly, but if not I think you're likely to be out of luck. Sadly, chartplotters use proprietary formats, and these formats have only been reverse- engineered for equipment that is used over a wide range of applications - which means Garmin!
