I have used this in the past and found it much better than the dreaded silicone but now every where seems just to stock the latter, fine for your bathroom but no place on a boat. Main advantage is flexibility, longer life and ease of cleaning up if you ever have to remove it.
Anyone know of a builders supply chain or online seller who stocks it ( or an equivalent polysulphide sealant) in white.

Thanks for that, unfortunately that supplier is one of those that charges a delivery surcharge for anywhere N or W of Glasgow and we locals try to avoid those where we can, though recently I had to pay Darglow £16 to send me a small aluminium anode because they say they will not use the Post Office. If I do not find another source I will just have to mutter a bit and stump up.

I shall be in the South next week then driving back to Ardfern in a week or ten days so if you are not in too much of a hurry I can have it delivered South and bring to you.

Jewson, the builders' merchants stock an Evo-Stick polysulphide which I have found reliable, even below the waterline. It resembles Life Caulk, which is also not available in the UK any longer and comes in a range of colours. It is not held by every branch but, if not, they should be able to order it in.

Soudal T Rex from Belgium is hard to beat. One second immediate grab and a 10sqcm area will support 320kg. Adhesive, sealant, whatever, I use nothing else.

The point about the Arbokol is that it is a sealant but not adhesive, for that I use CT1; I was intending to use this for the grp hatch garage which needs to come off occasionally. Arbokol 1000 skins over but never sets hard, it still come out of the cartridge after five years.
Since the existing sealant was silicone, this time I am going to forgo the extreme cleaning needed to get completely rid of it and just renew the silicone until the next time, rather than delay further. meanwhile I will lay by a tube of polysulphide.
I will see if I can cojole Jewsons in to ordering it, thanks to all who responded

Have you tried arbomast br sealant? Non setting apart from a skin exposed to air and builder merchants stock it quite often. Its produced by Adshead Ratcliffe.

I thought the inference was that the supplier was post free but their basic carriage charge is £7 !
