I consider buying the Mag as a means of contributing to this forum.
Not trying to be controversial - just that I get a lot out of this YBW forum.
I subscribe to PBO and getting closer to stop. Last few issues have looked at fancy suspension seats and then stabilisers. Suspect that the stabilisers are worth more than my boat. Just feel that PBO is becoming dated or is it me ?

I’ve not bought the mag now for many many years , just the odd one when I have gone on holiday for some poolside reading or aeroplane boredom relief, anyway my eldest Daughter bought me an annual subscription, I can’t believe how much it is now and I hate to say it’s more centred round the multi millionaires than the grass roots boaters , sadly it all went wrong for me and I will say my level of customers when MBM ceased production in my opinion it was a far more informative magazine than MBY that appealed to a wider audience. I’ll await the bashing .

Totally agree. I cancelled my subscription a few years back and then re-subscribed a year later. I'm thinking of cancelling again. Too many big boats and watches.

Ironically, I was only thinking recently that MBY is doing a pretty good job of covering all the bases, including the lower end of the market. Considering that this month's issue is a 'Custom Yachting' issue (so lots more REALLY big boats than usual), it includes a big article about a bloke who bought a boat for £250 and did it up, a five page used boat article about the (circa £100,000) Prestige 36, another used boat article about boats for around £150,000 and another article about a chap doing a big trip on an old Broom 33 (don't know what it's worth, £75K-ish at a guess?).

And personally, I enjoy reading about the 'dream boat' stuff that I can't possibly afford in exactly the same way that I enjoy reading about the latest Bugatti or Bentley in Car Magazine. I'm interested in all aspects of boating, just as I am cars.

My wife bought my subscription for me, I do enjoy MBY but I'd prefer to see more realistic boats (sub 300k) rather than the dream aspirational superyachts (multi £m). I also think this of Nick's Aquaholic channel, but I guess he goes with what generates the views / revenue and if you look at his numbers of views on the £8m + boats they are hitting 100k+ of views compared with smaller stuff hitting 30k views, so I guess I'm in the minority of what his market wants to see.

I enjoyed the story of the 7m boat around the UK a few months back though.
