Hello

Diligently checking my nav lights last night before crossing Channel next week - port side light isn't playing.

It's one of those little Aqua Signal - S34 - which I see from various websites is "maintenance free". Does that mean you can't change the bulb? I certainly can't see how to do it; shame if I have to fit a new one.

Phots follow.

Looks like there is no way to replace the LED.

I did have a NASA LED nav lights that kept failing to I wend back to my origional aqua signal and fitted a replaceable LED bulb.

Have you checked the connections at the end of the short flying leads? That is the most likely failure if the connection is not 100% waterproof.
I would guess that the lights have several strings each of 3 LEDs so would probably not all fail together.

You don't say what type. If side-mount, fault could possibly be related to cable. If bicolor or tricolor and only port side gone – replace.
Thanks, it's side light only. Turns out the crimp connector is at fault and ... Astonishingly... The connector is easily accessible in the anchor locker. So should be an easy fix (but we always say that, don't we?!)

I am glad you found and fixed the problem. Just as a matter of interest I had a LED nav light fail. Being a persistent devil I opened it up. Not at all easy breaking through epoxy silicon etc to find water had got in after some years and corroded the circuit board. manged to clean the board up and reassemble. Not an easy job and probably more susceptible to water than ever so perhaps just buy a new one would have been the best advice. ol'will
