After nearly 50 years of sterling service it looks like I need to replace my trusty Eastham Maxol BG21 Cooker (2 burners, Grill & Oven). Have looked at replacements in the past but always disappointed at their flimsy construction. Remember looking at the Neptune 4500 some years ago and thinking that some of the edges of the stainless steel could be bent with my fingers. Last year I saw an Aqua Chef V4520 which seemed a bit more sturdy than what I remember the Neptune 4500 to be.

However I read that the Aqua Chef V4520 is just a re-badged Neptune 4500. My question is are they identical? if not, what is the difference?

Would you buy the Aqua Chef V4520 in preference?

AFAIK it is just a re-branding of what was the Plastimo/Neptune range. still made by Leisure Products in Bolton. Probably some minor changes but essentially the same thing. choice of cookers has fallen dramatically in the UK because of the shrinking market - virtually no new builds and longer life of cookers built in the last 25 years or so reducing demand. Dometic is the other common "budget" brand.

The Aqua and Bainbridge are the same cookers except for the badge. As Tranona say they are made by Leisure Products.

The main thing you need to check is the width as I replaced an old Flavel cooker with an Aqua one and it was about an inch wider and I have to alter the rebates on the worktop either side to get it to fit.

I was buying a new cooker not long ago. Basically, the cookers on sale are all rebadged versions of the Leisure Products range, unless you go SERIOUSLY upmarket - and then you may well have problems finding one that fits the space available. That said, the Leisure Products range covers quite a wide range of products, and each model has several grades.
