Appropriate boat names

Been on here before but for those who did not see it or have forgotten.

We would often hear a Fletcher Speedboat calling the lock at Port Solent Marina:-

" Port Solent Marina, Port Solent Marina, this is Norman Stanley calling for permission to pass through the lock......................."

I shall need to take a wander down the towpath soon. Not been down since before Lockdown I. Looks like Turf is turning into another boat graveyard.

Bora Bora arrived down with us in Plymouth a few weeks back, not yet met the new owners.

Dire Straits looks like a Westerly GK 24.
I am sure that she would be transformed if a power washer was let loose on her.
Similarly with her neighbour - she looks like she might be a Vivacity 24 (?) - or perhaps an Atlas - but I am intrigued by what appears to be a solid dodger over the companionway?

Kind of fun to have an ‘ absolute ‘ Tore Out’?

You know, remove all trim, all sea cocks except for one static cockpit drain, engine, loo , sink mattresses , old wiring , cooker, gas install, tanks and varnished woody bits, stuff stuff stuff... and just navigate on compass and eyeball and an old gps equipped smart phone and a paper chart. With plenty of cut down s/h sails ...

The affordable accessible mooring, there’s the rub, aye!

I suspect you would need to hanker after a solitary life?

Indeed
Although I was thinking of a Saturday fun daysailer and a couple of mates ..
I looked at a 36 ft grp boat with detachable legs. And clever stowage for them..In theory ‘parking’ on a firm foreshore ( with a boat lacking in any pinch-able valuables on it) as they do up sheltered Cornish creeks -and other places ?-offers low cost and dinghy-less access . And no antifouling too.. maybe.
In the end I declined , reasoning one would worry or just lug the legs around all the time and rarely use em..and bought a ‘ standard’ sister ship ..

Quite right
Mums the word and mind the mud?

In my limited experience -across three continents,mind- the bestest nicest rarest least high profile moorings and boatyards say : “ Well , bring it round and let’s have a look at you “...
the naive might think they are being asked solely about the size of their boat...
